PPTP
Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol - A new technology used to allow TCP/IP data to be transmitted over non-TCP/IP networks. A common use for PPTP is to join physical networks together to form "virtual internets" using the Internet as a means to accomplish this. The PPTP ensures that messages sent back and forth on the "virtual internet" are secure.
